Due to a coffee shortage during the Civil War, New Orleanians began extending their coffee supply by adding chicory, the root of the endive plant, roasted and ground. The result was a bittersweet, heavy-bodied brew. Coffee and chicory remains a New Orleans favorite today.

This is without question my favorite coffee in the world. I am an entertainer and drink java from all over, but I can't wait to have coffee at home! It has me completely spoiled. I even have to ration it out to my spoiled friends who visit to keep enough for myself!
This is the only coffee beverage I drink. I always add about 1/3 to 1/4 whole milk with any coffee I drink, including this, makes it like food. The chicory blend makes it substantially smoother than regular coffee. It doesn't make for jitters like regular coffee, due to the lower caffeine content since it's not all coffee, due to the chicory.
OMG! Love this coffee so much! Spent a week in TX with some relatives who drink nothing but Community Coffee & Chicory. Needless to say I became spoiled with the taste. Came home to my usual "out of the can" coffee and had a hard time getting it down. Immediately got online to put in my order! Best coffee I've ever had!
My wife and I moved to NC and found we could not do without Community. I have been all over and nothing could take its place. So keep it coming. Ron
I grew up in N.O., but wasn't a big coffee drinker. After moving to California and acquiring a taste for coffee, I tried Community on a visit back home. My goodness! I had never tasted a richer, more delicious coffee in my life. I now only drink New Orleans Blend... having it delivered to our home in San Diego.
