Due to a coffee shortage during the Civil War, New Orleanians began extending their coffee supply by adding chicory, the root of the endive plant, roasted and ground. The result was a bittersweet, heavy-bodied brew. Coffee and chicory remains a New Orleans favorite today.

I've been drinking this coffee for years. There is no replacement and I've tried them all. Since we get coffee ordered in monthly (5 pounds) we've been giving some away. I have successfully gotten my entire office hooked on Between Roast coffee, it's that good!
I was introduced to Community Coffee in the fall of 1999. I was stationed at Fort Polk when my boss, Sgt. D gave me a cup. I have enjoyed your coffee from that day on. Thanks for the best cup of coffee ever.Mark"Massillon, Ohio"
You just can't get a bad cup of coffee from CC and this is the best. Rich, full-bodied and SMOOTH! That's a good cup of coffee! My only complaint is that I wish it came in whole bean.
The "Between Roast" is the perfect blend for me. I have drank the "Dark Roast", and the "Medium Roast", but when I tried the "Bteween Roast"... That's the one!Ken....Arkansas
Of all the Community Coffee blends, Between Roast is my favorite. Heavy whipping cream instead of milk, or half and half makes for a wonderful flavorful cup of java.
A wonderful coffee! Best of both coffee worlds!!You taste the boldness of the dark roast which is perfectly balanced out with the smoothness of sweeter light roast. I recommend everyone try. IMO #1 Coffee from CC.
I am a native of Louisiana and love the between roast! This was my grandma's favorite!
I like to mix Between Roast with Dark Roast to get my perfect blend.
I tried the Dark. I tried the Medium. I tried Columbian. I tried 'em all. The rich chocolaty flavor of Between can't be beat. Make it a cup at a time, through a filter. Or use a French Press for a treat. Add sweetener and creamer of your choice, if you like them, and enjoy.
This is my favorite CC blend!I moved to where I live now in NW TN 2 years ago and have to drive and hour south of me to get this coffee.I stock up too!Its SMOOTH and full bodied, thats why I like it so much. Its worth the drive!
love your coffee
Excellent coffee, with good taste and acidity
My first memory of Community Coffee was among my first few memories of life. My grandparents were farmers in Kinder, Louisiana. As a young child in winter, I would wake up and walk into the din, where by a small heater would sit a glass of "coffee milk", made with Community Coffee and a grandma's love.I've converted many an Okie to Community Coffee, most who later affirm that there "is no other".Thank you for a fine coffee and a great heritage.David SackerTulsa, OKby way of SW LA
I never seem to be able to get coffee right, and the office coffee maker is a piece of junk, and this still comes out well. Amazing.
