Coffee and Chicory
Due to a coffee shortage during the Civil War, New Orleanians began extending their coffee supply by adding chicory, the root of the endive plant, roasted and ground. The result was a bittersweet, heavy-bodied brew. Coffee and chicory remains a New Orleans favorite today.

My Rating:

I spent four years in New Orleans and that is where I had the best coffe anywhere (with chickory) Living in the Northeast there isnt any coffee with chickory. On a recent trip to the Pensacola area I found your coffee and now I have that good ole New Orleans taste.

I am a coffee lover, which my son-in-law knows, so upon returning home after visiting with family in New Orleans I was given this particular blend as a gift and I must say it is by far the best I've EVER had. It's full rich bodied yet so smooth. Indeed a 5 rating.

I grew up in N.O., but wasn't a big coffee drinker. After moving to California and acquiring a taste for coffee, I tried Community on a visit back home. My goodness! I had never tasted a richer, more delicious coffee in my life. I now only drink New Orleans Blend... having it delivered to our home in San Diego.

I found this coffee visiting my sister in Texas....it is so good... smooth not bitter..... I have friends who ask me now when i come from there or she visits... did i get some chicory coffee?? it's the best i have ever made and i've been drinking coffee for 25 years....

Four years in the Navy, thirty in law enforcement, I have drank a great deal of coffee. Some good, some bad. After spending a great deal of time in Mississippi and Louisiana I can tell you this is the best money can buy. Nothing to compare with in Pennnsylvania.

We can get anything here in New York for the right price, but the brands of chicory coffee in specialty food stores are much more expensive and sometimes not as good. Am so delighted that your New Orleans blend will now be shipped to my door.

I gre up in Illinois on Folgers and Maxwell House. I moved to Louisiana in 1977, had a cup of Community Coffee and Chicory, and have been sold on this product as being the best representation of what a good cup of coffee tastes like ever since. Full bodied brew that is smooth and flavorful. Excellent coffee for cafe au lait.
