CC's Community Coffee House® Using Foursquare to Connect with Customers this Spring

August 06, 2010-

Customers Invited to Find the Trolley Café at Local Festivals and Locations throughout South Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. – CC’s Community Coffee House® is playing “Find the Trolley” with customers this spring, and it is using the latest in social media applications to do it.
CC’s Community Coffee House will take Community Coffee Company’s trolley café to festivals and special events throughout South Louisiana and will check in with customers using Foursquare. The latest social media application to capture the attention of young people and technology buffs, Foursquare uses GPS technology to allow users to report their whereabouts to friends and associates and to provide tips about each location.

CC’s Community Coffee House has embraced the technology as a way to connect with customers and promote local festivals and events throughout April and May. Customers can use Twitter or Facebook to follow CC’s Community Coffee House and find the Community trolley, a red and gold mobile café, designed to resemble a New Orleans streetcar. Once they connect with the trolley, customers receive a coupon booklet worth more than $30 in discounts on CC’s® coffee drinks, as well as products and services from participating local businesses.

"Springtime in Louisiana is all about great music, fellowship, food -- and of course great coffee. We're happy to participate in the celebrations to connect with our communities and provide support for local organizations and causes whenever we can. We hope our customers will follow the trolley and join us wherever we go," said Celton Hayden, General Manager of Retail Operations for CC’s Community Coffee House.

In New Orleans, the trolley café can be found at the Iron Man Run and the Young Leadership Council’s spring concerts, Wednesdays at the Square. This past weekend, the trolley could be found at French Quarter Festival, where part of the proceeds from product sales benefited the festival organization. The coupon booklet, called “Geaux NOLA,” includes discounts from CC’s, Palace Café, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, the Bourbon House, Marguerite’s Bakery, Audubon Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas and Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry.

In Baton Rouge, the trolley café can be found at Fest for All, the Head 2 Toe Event at the Crowne Plaza and Mall of Louisiana. The “Geaux Baton Rouge” booklet includes discounts from CC’s, Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant, Sweet Wishes Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe, The Royal Standard and Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry.

In Lafayette, the trolley café can be found at Festival International, Albertson’s Shopping Center on Ambassador Caffery at Congress, and the Mall of Acadiana. Customers who find the trolley will receive a “Geaux Lafayette” booklet with discounts from CC’s, Jolie’s Bistro, Blue Dog Café, The Royal Standard and Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry.
