Community Coffee Company Announces Board and Management Changes to Support Future Plans

June 07, 2012-

Elections ensure leadership continuity for sustained growth

Baton Rouge, La. (June 6, 2012) – Community Coffee Company, the largest family-owned and operated retail coffee brand in America, today announced the results of its most recent Board of Directors’ elections, which occurred on June 6, 2012. The results will ensure the continuity of strong leadership required to execute the company’s future growth plans.

Matt Saurage was elected Chairman of the Board, succeeding Norman Saurage who served as chairman for the past 26 years.  Matt Saurage, the fourth generation of the Saurage family and great-grandson of the Founder, served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2005.  Norman Saurage will continue to serve on the board as a director, providing guidance and valuable insight he has acquired over the past 60 years with the company.

Community Coffee Company also made key organizational promotions, including David Belanger who assumes the position of president and chief executive officer.  He has been with Community Coffee since 1998 and rapidly advanced from general manager of operations to senior vice president and most recently chief operating officer.  His demonstrated passion will serve the company in realizing its vision to be the best coffee company in America.

Annette Vaccaro was promoted to senior vice president and will continue to serve as the company’s treasurer and chief financial officer, having assumed these responsibilities in 2004.  She has more than 14 years of experience in the company’s finance, risk management, information systems, and human resources areas, and she will oversee the multi-year expansion plan of the company’s roasting facility in Port Allen.

Danny Hebert, who joined the company in 1990 as a sales representative, was promoted to vice president of Human Resources.  He has been overseeing the company’s recruiting, training, development and employee services since he was appointed Human Resources Director in 2009.

“We are fortunate to have exceptional talent and true leaders in our management team.  These are the people who set high expectations for our talent quality, performance and faithfulness to our core values,” said Matt Saurage, chairman - Community Coffee Company.  “They possess the skills and character that are essential to our success.”
