Toledo is located high up in a canyon that links the Andes Mountains with the eastern savannas of Colombia. Here, coffee is grown under full shade at altitudes between 5,000 and 5,800 feet above sea level. Hot and humid weather systems from the plains introduce large temperature fluctuations between day and night. This climatic interaction between cool, mountain air and the hot, humid air from the lower savannas provides the coffee trees with optimal levels of moisture. These positive climatic influences, together with other noteworthy factors such as fertile, volcanic soil, widespread organic fertilization, and sun drying produce an exceptional coffee.
Colombia Toledo Labateca reveals distinct traces of dark chocolate that add an agreeable sweet note to its intense flavor. This coffee has a well-balanced cup with mild acidity. The finish leaves a lasting impression reminiscent of toasted almonds. We hope you enjoy!
