Four Generations
in the Making

Our family is passionate about making great-tasting coffee.

In 1919, my great-grandfather "Cap" Saurage discovered the secret of making our special coffee. He named it "Community Coffee" out of appreciation for his community of friends and the customers he served. With the help of his family, Cap Saurage opened a country store to sell coffee and other groceries to his neighbors.

Four generations later, our family is still selecting, roasting and perfecting great-tasting blends for coffee lovers everywhere. From sourcing our beans at coffee farms around the globe, to tasting the finished product at our own kitchen table.

-Matt Saurage, Fourth Generation Owner

Since Cap blended the first batch of Community® coffee, we've seen a lot of change - both inside the company and outside it. We've learned that it isn't change that defines a company, but rather the part of it that stays true to its roots. In our case that means always dedicating ourselves to making the best-tasting, highest-quality coffee we possibly can.

Over the past 95 years, we've faced changes and challenges with an ingenuity that balances the wisdom of four generations. Among our many innovations are better methods of sourcing, better roasting techniques, and novel ideas to keep our coffee at its peak of flavor and freshness.

From the moment our beans are planted to the moment our coffee is served, we're inspired. We simply love making coffee. Above all, we're inspired by the people we work with, the customers we serve, and the connections we've built together.
