Community Coffee Celebrates 30 Years of Community Cash for Schools® Program

Apr 22, 2019

Baton Rouge, LA, April 2019 —This year, more than 775 schools participated in the Community Cash for Schools® program, earning over $328,500 from Proof of Purchase collection.

“I am happy to see so many schools participating each year and so many students benefitting from the program,” said Matt Saurage, fourth-generation owner of Community Coffee Company. “The money the schools earned will help provide students and teachers with the resources they need for a successful school year and hopefully many years to come.”

Since its inception 30 years ago, Community Cash for Schools® has helped public and private schools throughout the region earn $7.6 million by collecting Proofs of Purchase from all Community® brand products. These funds are used for programs and initiatives that best serve students’ needs: new playground equipment, textbooks, computers, whiteboards, school events and more.

More than 75 schools earned over $1,000 from Community® items. This year’s top-earning school, Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School in Lafayette, LA, earned over $7,900—the most ever earned by a single school.
