Celebrates 28th Year of Community Cash for Schools® Program
Baton Rouge, LA — Community Coffee Company is proud to announce the start of its 28th annual Community Cash for Schools® program, which helps schools earn money by collecting UPC labels from all Community® brand products.
Last year, 826 schools participated in the Community Cash for Schools® program and earned over $368,000 for their teachers and students. The top earning school, The Church Academy in St. Amant, Louisiana, earned over $5,200 alone.
“We began the Community Cash for Schools® program almost three decades ago as a way to support our local community,” said David Belanger, President and CEO of Community Coffee Company. “Especially given the recent flooding in south Louisiana, we are grateful once again to be able to give back to our schools and students who deserve nothing less than a high-quality education.”
Since the program’s inception in 1988, Community Coffee Company has helped local public and private schools generate over $6.7 million in cash. These funds are used for programs and initiatives that best serve students’ needs, including but not limited to new playground equipment, textbooks, computers, whiteboards, school events and more.
In order to participate, students, teachers and their local communities work together to collect UPC labels from Community® coffee and tea products purchased at grocery stores, hotels and businesses. As a whole, schools then submit the UPCs as instructed at CommunityCoffee.com/CashforSchools. Once submitted, these product Proofs of Purchase are redeemed for cash that each school can allocate at its discretion.
To sign up, school administrators should visit CommunityCoffee.com/CashforSchools and click on the “Enroll Online” link. Before enjoying a rich, smooth cup of Community® coffee, customers should remember to save UPCs (bar codes) from all Community® products. To submit, we ask that school administrators download the UPC Tracking Form online and bundle all UPCs as instructed.
Community® coffee is available for purchase on the company website and at grocery stores throughout the Southeast region of the United States. For more information, please visit CommunityCoffee.com.
Community Coffee Company is committed to supporting the local communities where we do business and dedicates approximately 2.5% of its pretax income to socially responsible charitable programs, which is well above the industry average. Additionally, education and the Community Cash for Schools® program are at the center of the Company’s philanthropic program.
