RECOGNIZING OUTSTANDING LOUISIANA TEACHERS
H. Norman Saurage III Service Award
Every year the Dream Teachers organization honors a Louisiana public school teacher with the H. Norman Saurage III Service Award.
Named for our late third-generation owner, the award recognizes someone who has demonstrated outstanding instructional skills and made an exceptional personal contribution outside of the classroom to student enrichment, professional leadership, or community
service.
We created the award in honor of Norman Saurage, who always looked for ways to give back to educators. During his time as Chairman of the Board, we started the Community Cash for Schools® program that has enabled customers to raise over $8.7 million for education.
Dream Teachers is a statewide nonprofit, dedicated to recognizing and rewarding exceptional Louisiana educators and raising public awareness of the true value of the teaching profession. Norman’s wife Donna is an Ambassador for Dream Teachers, and his granddaughter Sarah serves on the organization’s board.
