Winter Spice Café Au Lait Recipe

Christmas coffee meets seasonal spices in this delicious café au lait! With winter flavors like cinnamon and cardamom, this holly-jolly hot coffee makes Christmastime extra cozy.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup (adjust to your liking)
  • Small saucepan
  • Community Coffee Christmas Blend
  • Handheld milk frother
  • Small mixing bowl (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional garnish)

 

Step 1: Heat

Add milk, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla syrup to a small saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently to combine.

Step 2: Brew

While the milk mixture heats up, brew our Christmas Blend coffee using your hot-brew method of choice.

Step 3: Froth

After about 3–4 minutes (or once the milk’s temperature reaches 150°F), take the pan off heat. Use a handheld milk frother and froth for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then set aside. You can froth directly in the saucepan or in a small mixing bowl, if desired.

Step 4: Combine & Enjoy

Combine a 1:1 ratio of freshly brewed Christmas Blend coffee and your milk mixture (we recommend 1 cup of each). Garnish with leftover spices and whipped cream as desired, and enjoy!
