Supplier Code of Conduct

At Community Coffee Company, L.L.C. (“Community”), we believe that maintaining trust and integrity in our supplier relationships is critical to our success. To communicate our expectations, we have established standards that align with our company values. The Supplier Code of Conduct defines those standards.  We also expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable labor, employment, health and safety, and environmental laws and regulations of the countries in which they are doing business. Community may conduct audits to verify compliance with this code.

This Supplier Code of Conduct applies to the suppliers that we conduct direct business with and their subsidiaries and employees. It also applies to all sub-tier suppliers and agents who are part of the supply chain for the provision of goods and services to Community (collectively called “suppliers”). It is the supplier’s responsibility to communicate and educate its employees and sub-tier suppliers on this code and verify compliance herewith.

Labor & Human Rights:

Care for our employees is one of our core values. We are committed to fair labor practices and to treating our employees with dignity and respect. We expect our suppliers to make the same commitment by having controls in place that:

  • Verify the employment eligibility of their employees
  • Respect the right of employees to freely associate
  • Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws
  • Prohibit discrimination, harassment, forced labor and child labor

Product & Service Quality:

Our brand represents a long-standing tradition of excellence and a commitment to providing quality products and outstanding service. We never compromise on food safety or quality and expect our suppliers to do the same by complying with all Community product specifications and quality standards, industry standards such as the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and applicable government food safety regulations including, but not limited to, those issued by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Environment:

We strive to conduct business in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner that minimizes the impact to the planet. We expect our suppliers to conduct themselves in a similar environmentally responsible way. To that end, our suppliers must:

  • Comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Seek to conserve resources and make efficient use of water, energy, and raw materials.
  • Strive to manage the impact of their operations on the environment through control of air emissions, waste reduction, safe hazardous materials use, and proper wastewater disposal.

Business Integrity and Ethical Behavior:

At Community, we are committed to operating ethically and with integrity. We dedicate ourselves to honesty, fairness, accountability, and ethical business practices. We require that our suppliers have controls in place that prohibit and detect corruption, bribery, improper gifts, extortion, and embezzlement.
